The Mountain Equipment ICELINE LONG is your reliable companion for extreme expeditions in the highest mountains in the world. It combines 994 g certified goose down with a minimum fill power of 800 cuin and a robust yet lightweight GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER® 10 denier outer material that is not only wind and water resistant but also highly breathable. The sophisticated chamber construction with V and trapezoidal chambers ensures optimal heat distribution without cold spots. The seven-chamber hood and anatomically shaped foot section keep you warm even at -30°C. Thanks to EXL® technology, the inner material hugs your body closely to retain valuable heat. The long Gemini™ zipper and magnetic Lode Lock™ closure minimize heat loss, while the generous Expedition Fit leaves plenty of room for extra clothing. The breathable, moisture-resistant interior in the foot section provides storage space for wet equipment. With the ICELINE LONG, you can master weeks-long tours in the harshest conditions – for a restful sleep even at high altitudes and in extreme cold.
temperature values
The EN13537 standard defines the temperature specifications for sleeping bags. The insulation value is determined in the laboratory, thereby standardizing the evaluation of thermal performance. Three values are common: Comfort (comfort zone for women), limit (comfort zone for men) and the extreme value, where there is no risk of frostbite or dangerous hypothermia. The calculations are applicable up to temperatures of –18 °C; at lower values, the laboratory standard no longer reflect the actual heat output. That is why we do not refer to the EN standard for the models in this series, but rather to our realistic empirical values.
