• DUROloft Insulation: DUROloft uses hydrophobic synthetic fibers arranged to mimic the structure of down. It traps warmth in air pockets, providing great thermal insulation / DUROloft Eco has the same properties than DUROloft but is made of recycled and recyclable fibers / DUROloft Bio is a mix of wool and Polylactic acid fibers, a bioplastic derived from renewable resources. It combines the great thermoregulation and antibacterial proprieties of wool with the lightness and quick dry properties of synthetic fiber.


• C0 DWR or PFC-free: Perfluorinated and polyfluorinated compounds, also known as PFCs, are a group of fluorinated substances that have long been used as durable water repellence for clothing in the outdoor industry. They are very bad for the environment because they are very stable, and do not easily break down in nature. Therefore, PFC free/ C0 DWR treatments have been developed. They are less durable but more sustainable.


• Re-source product: SCOTT committed to preserving the environment for future generations. One of the following aspects must be fulfilled, that a product gets the Re-Source label by SCOTT: Either use a minimum of 50% recycled materials, or are made with 100% renewable materials or only PWC-free DWR (durable water repellence) treatments are used

PFC-free Products bearing the label "PFC Free" or "PFC-free" guarantee that they do not contain any per- and polyfluorinated chemicals (PFCs). These PFCs are known for their water-, dirt-, and oil-repellent properties, which is why they are often used as chemical coatings in outdoor and functional clothing.

It is important to note that PFCs degrade extremely slowly and can therefore remain in the environment for a very long time. In addition, these chemicals pose a potential health risk to humans. According to Greenpeace, PFCs can be detected even in remote mountain lakes or in the blood of polar bears in the Arctic, far away from their original source.

Some manufacturers, such as Vaude, Jack Wolfskin, and Picture, deliberately avoid using PFCs in their products in order to minimize this environmental impact.

Recycled materials Reusable materials are used in the manufacture of outdoor products, which is intended to help conserve resources. Many manufacturers also label their products with appropriate labels and designations.
