• C0 DWR or PFC-free: Perfluorinated and polyfluorinated compounds, also known as PFCs, are a group of fluorinated substances that have long been used as durable water repellence for clothing in the outdoor industry. They are very bad for the environment because they are very stable, and do not easily break down in nature. Therefore, PFC free/ C0 DWR treatments have been developed. They are less durable but more sustainable.


• SCOTT +++ Pro padding: The SCOTT +++ Pro padding is the optimized chamois based on the successful padding developed in collaboration with TMF and Syncros. Its foam construction combines Breath Tech (R) backing and high-impact perforated foams and optimizes moisture-wicking, breathability and shock absorption. The soft zigzag carbon surface fabric dissipates heat and germs thanks to the permanent bacteriostatic effect of its carbon yarns, leaving cyclists cool, fresh and friction free, which is espe- cially important on long rides. TMF’s 3rd generation Skyve technology is used to cut and skim the foams, combined with pre-shaping technology to give the SCOTT +++ Pro pad its unique ergo fitting shape.

PFC-free Products bearing the label "PFC Free" or "PFC-free" guarantee that they do not contain any per- and polyfluorinated chemicals (PFCs). These PFCs are known for their water-, dirt-, and oil-repellent properties, which is why they are often used as chemical coatings in outdoor and functional clothing.

It is important to note that PFCs degrade extremely slowly and can therefore remain in the environment for a very long time. In addition, these chemicals pose a potential health risk to humans. According to Greenpeace, PFCs can be detected even in remote mountain lakes or in the blood of polar bears in the Arctic, far away from their original source.

Some manufacturers, such as Vaude, Jack Wolfskin, and Picture, deliberately avoid using PFCs in their products in order to minimize this environmental impact.
